Jack & Jill Children’s Center reopened on June 8th under guidelines issued by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Department of Children and Families and Broward County Child Care Licensing. We have enhanced safety protocols which include decreased enrollment and classroom group size, implementation of physical distancing for children and staff, modified sign in and out procedures, and an updated sick policy. The building was disinfected by Stanley Steamer, who donated their electrostatic sanitization service to us, and high touch surfaces are cleaned multiple times throughout the day. Our classrooms and toys have been cleaned, disinfected, and sanitized and we have created a frequency table to ensure it is maintained.

Education Inside the Center: Infants-Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK)

Our educational program has been revised to focus on individualized learning with teacher support. Children engage in play-based activities with choices such as science exploration, math games, manipulatives (i.e. blocks, legos, puzzles), art, language and reading.

Early Childhood Education—Beyond the Classroom

Children who did not physically return to the building participate in virtual learning opportunities using Zoom. Two groups, Birth to 2 years old and Preschool (3-5 years old), participate in morning and afternoon sessions each day. Lessons are facilitated by teachers, intentionally planned, and allow children to work at their own pace to experience success.
