Run 4 The Kids 5K – Event Information

Thank you so much for supporting Jack & Jill Center by registering for The 2nd Annual Run 4 The Kids 5K!

Pre-packet pick-up will be held on Friday, September 17th from 3:00 to 5:30 PM at Jack & Jill Center (1315 W Broward Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, FL) outside of the Madelaine Halmos Academy building. Participants will also be able to pick up their packets at the event beginning at 7:45 AM. Virtual supporters will be mailed their packets which include their Run 4 The Kids 5K t-shirts and medals, if unable to pick them up at the pre-packet pickup or the packet pick-up on the event day.

In-person participants, join us Saturday, September 18th at LauderAle Brewery (3305 SE 14th Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316) from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Below are the event day details:

  • 7:45 AM – Registration Opens
  • 8:10 AM – Warm Up By Alyssa From Ales & Asanas Yoga
  • 8:20 AM – National Anthem by School of Rock
  • 8:30 AM – Race Kick-Off/ Participant Start Time
  • 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM – Entertainment by School of Rock

Free event parking is available in all areas that have not been blocked by event signage and orange cones. Additionally, free street parking is available in the grass along SW 14th Avenue, and in the Sirrsccos Marine parking lot located next to LauderAle Brewery.

All participants, virtual and in-person, will receive a t-shirt and medal, and in-person 21+ participants will also receive a drink ticket. In addition to LauderAle Brewery’s beers on tap, mimosas will also be available. If anyone makes an additional donation of $5 donation to Jack & Jill Center at the event, LauderAle will give a $1 discount on a beverage (up to $5 in discounts total per person). The Friends of Jack & Jill Center presented The 20th Annual Power Lunch on Wednesday, September 29 at 11:30 AM at Global Grille at First Baptist. 250 guests joined us as Jack & Jill Center paid tribute to several special honorees in the community: The Young Professionals Network, The Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation, and Herman Construction. This honor is bestowed to one corporate organization, one foundation organization, and one volunteer organization that have gone above and beyond through their contributions and service to Jack & Jill Center.

Attendees were joined by Neki Mohan, Journalist, Storyteller, and Entrepreneur as the Master of Ceremonies and Guest Speaker, and Steve Halmos, CEO of Halmos Holdings, Inc. as Guest Speaker. Thank you to all of our supporters for making this event successful! Over $90,000 was raised to support the children and families at Jack & Jill Center.

Community members, you and your families are invited to our Madelaine Halmos Academy Open House on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 from 5:30 – 7:00 PM!

  • Tour our brand-new, state-of-the-art elementary school building featuring two classrooms for each grade—kindergarten through fifth—in addition to a Music, Media, and Movement (MMM) Room, a Science and Art Lab, a large open-air classroom connecting the outdoors with a flexible learning space, and so much more.
  • Engage with our passionate administrators, teachers, and team members who all possess a desire to see students thrive, and the ability to implement innovative approaches to education for an overall competitive educational experience for all of our students.

 Join us on Wednesday, March 9 at 5:30 PM for an Open House at our Jack & Jill Early Education Center and Madelaine Halmos Academy located at 1315 W Broward Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312! The Early Education Center is enrolling children from 6 week – VPK4. Madelaine Halmos Academy is a beautiful, brand-new, state-of-the-art elementary school building features two classrooms for each grade—kindergarten through fifth—in addition to a Music, Media, and Movement (MMM) Room, a Science and Art Lab, a large open-air classroom connecting the outdoors with a flexible learning space, and so much more.

Dust off your leg warmers and tease your hair as Jack & Jill Center celebrates the best decade yet at its 80s themed 80th Anniversary!!Join us on Saturday, October 22nd at Coral Ridge Yacht Club from 6:30 – 11:00pm. This totally awesome 80’s event, overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway, will feature 80’s themed décor, delicious drinks, fabulous food, dancing and a live performance by the Marcia Mitchell Band. Party-goers are welcome to attend in cocktail attire; however, are given a hall pass to celebrate the theme by wearing quintessential ’80s fashion including bright neon colors, bold prints, teased and crimped hair and shoulder pads.

Parking: Complimentary valet parking will be provided. Uber or Lyft is strongly encouraged.
