The Madelaine Halmos Academy is open! We are so grateful to the supports of the Capital Campaign who together raised $11 million to support construction and operation of our beautiful, new school.
Thank you so much to our supporters who contributed to our Capital Campaign to construct a school to house our elementary program, Madelaine Halmos Academy. This building has been fully operational since the 2021-22 school year, serving kindergarten through fifth grade.
“With this new state-of-the-art school, we are able to significantly enhance our ability to develop lifelong learners with the potential for prosperous futures,” said Heather Siskind, CEO of Jack & Jill Center. “We are very thankful to the Halmos family and the community for their dedication to helping these children achieve success.”
The photos below serve as a record of the building’s construction. What an incredible journey it has been!

We are nearing the final phase of the construction process for The Madelaine Halmos Academy, also known as the project closure. The building essence is both evident and notable as drywall, windows, doors, and other finishings are installed. Installation of the parking lot sub-base has been completed to ensure the structural integrity and proper drainage of the asphalt surface which will be laid in the upcoming weeks.

Although COVID-19 has caused our programs to transition to digital learning, we are happy to report that construction of The Madelaine Halmos Academy has not stopped! We have made tremendous strides, including laying all of the foundation for the new building. There will be a lot more visual progress in the next day or two as the masonry walls start going up, so please continue to check our social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube) and be on the look out for more email communications from us. Enrollment is now open for the 2020-2021 school year. In August, we will open our inaugural fourth grade class.
To date, we have raised $8.1 million of our $11 million goal. Thank you to everyone who has contributed and made this expanded vision possible. Thank you to Keith Arnold and Tom McManus for leading the charge as Co-Chairs of the Capital Campaign Committee. Thank you to Madelaine and Steve Halmos, Honorary Chairs, who have donated the lead gift for the campaign.
We would also like to extend a special thank you to our amazing neighbor, Dr. Michael Barnard and Broward DDS for being so patient and accommodating during this monumental period of expansion for Jack & Jill Children’s Center.
