Petrina C. Johnson
Principal, Madelaine Halmos Academy
Serving students, families, communities and schools has been Petrina’s passion and profession for more than 25 years. Throughout her career she has held various leadership positions, including school principal, state director for students with disabilities and English Language Learners, and district director for Special Education. In addition, she has worked as a Literacy Coach, as an Inclusion Specialist and as a classroom teacher. Petrina has served in urban, public, charter, private and residential school settings in both New York and Florida.
In her new role as Principal of the Madelaine Halmos Academy, Petrina is excited to continue the work of building a rigorous, inclusive, innovative school community that embodies the vision of the school’s namesake—to allow each student a fair chance to reach their full potential.
