For your convenience, we have created a Facebook group for Jack & Jill volunteers: Join the Facebook Group!
Jack & Jill provides many opportunities for the business community to invest directly in the needs of children and families. By joining our Corporate Partners Program, your organization will help support the Center. Organizations may be able to:
- Hold food and clothing drives
- Organize a service project at the Center
- Participate in our Holiday Family Adoption Program
- Read to our students at Family Story Night
All volunteers must have a valid form of identification with them for each visit in order to complete a Silver Shield background screening. For more information on how to get your company involved, please contact Alana Wortsman, Business Development Manager, at email@example.com // 954.463.8772 x 217.
Volunteers may be able to: tutor students, be a classroom helper, organize the J&J Boutique, assist in the kitchen or maintenance. All student volunteers must be at least 9th graders in high school.
All individual volunteers must pass two VECHS background screenings to satisfy licensing requirements of both Early Childhood Education and The Department of Education. Additionally, all volunteers must have a valid form of identification with them for each visit in order to complete a Silver Shield background screening. United Way ReadingPals
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to limited parking caused by the construction of The Madelaine Halmos Academy, Reading Pals will only be held at the Academy at the Salvation Army until further notice.
United Way of Broward is seeking enthusiastic adults and college/high school students to volunteer their time as ReadingPals at Jack & Jill Children’s Center and The Madelaine Halmos Academy at Jack & Jill. The three goals of ReadingPals are mentoring, early literacy, and social-emotional development. United Way ReadingPals provides all books and literacy tools. Volunteers read with a child for one hour a week for 25 weeks. This is an amazing way to make a direct impact on the children at Jack & Jill while having a whole lot of fun!
- Share your love of reading and learning
- Mentor an Elementary Student
- Read One-on-One with a Child
- Teach and promote literacy
