The Center is open year-round, Monday through Friday, and serves children who are six weeks to five years old. Available Programs

Infant/Toddler Program (six weeks through three years old)

Jack & Jill Center’s Infant/Toddler program is designed to offer a safe and secure place where children will be able to explore, learn new skills, build positive relationships with teachers and other children. Additionally, Continuity of Care is practiced to ensure children remain with the same teachers/ caregivers for multiple years, creating secure, stable attachments.

Preschool/Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program (three years through five years)

Our programs work to ensure all children enter kindergarten ready to learn. We value learning through play and believe this encourages children to explore their world through language and the opportunity to make choices. We place emphasis on the process (the doing) rather than the product. Our mission is to help each child reach their highest potential intellectually, socially, physically and emotionally as well as nurture a genuine life-long love of learning.

Program Highlights

Each day at Jack & Jill Center is filled with opportunities for both active involvement and quiet reflection. We implement The Creative Curriculum® in all classrooms. This curriculum is comprehensive and research-based and promotes exploration and discovery as a way of learning. The Creative Curriculum® is aligned to the Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards Birth to Kindergarten which outline what children should know and be able to do at each grade level. We also implement Conscious Discipline® an evidence-based comprehensive program that utilizes everyday events rather than an external curriculum, and addresses an adult educator’s emotional intelligence as well as a child’s. Teachers learn to respond to daily conflict in a way that transforms it into an opportunity to teach students critical life skills, thus improving each aspect of classroom life! Our program is fortunate to have experienced teachers in the field of early childhood education. We provide Continuity of Care, a practice that ensures children remain with their teachers for more than one year. Additionally Jack & Jill Center administers the Ages and Stages® Developmental Screening tool for all children enrolled. We provide quality, nutritious meals and snacks for children, including formula and baby food at no additional cost to infant parents. Finally, our school participates in the School Readiness Program and we are an approved Florida Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) provider.

Family Support

Our comprehensive Family Program is designed to strengthen families by providing intensive parent education, case management and referrals, a food and clothing pantry, and an emergency assistance fund. Through this program, families increase financial stability, maintain employment, achieve job achievement and foster their child’s healthy growth and development. As a result of addressing the needs of whole families, parents gain knowledge and confidence while children perform and behave better at home and in the classroom.

We have extensive experience working with children with special needs. The Family Program works closely with teachers and school administrators to help identify and provide referrals for children in need of special services. We partner with other agencies to provide onsite therapeutic services. These agencies include Kids Spot, whose therapists provide Speech, Occupational and Physical therapies, and Kids in Distress (KIDS) which provides Infant Mental Health Counseling.

HEALTH Program

Led by our Director of Health Initiatives, the HEALTH (Helping Everyone Achieve Long Term Health) Program provides comprehensive and integrated health services in collaboration with community resources for the children, families, and faculty of Jack & Jill Center. This program follows the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC) Model designed by the Centers for Disease Control. Through comprehensive health assessments, provision of health services, preventative healthcare, and community partnerships, this program has a significant positive impact on the health and wellness of our children, families and community.

Healthy Meals

Jack & Jill Center students receive two hot and healthy meals, and one snack, prepared by our in-house Chef and Food Service Support Staff. It is our goal that hunger never slows or stops a child’s ability to learn in our classrooms. With the help of our Family Program, food and nutrition classes are also offered to families so they may learn how to prepare healthy, nutritious and inexpensive meals at home.

Community Collaborations

Jack & Jill collaborates with several community organizations to provide services for families. Collaborations are important to our model because these partnerships allow us to expand and extend services to families at low or no additional cost.
